How much will my Mediation Cost?
Some mediators do not publicly advertise their pricing, but my ethos is that all clients should be fully aware of my mediation fees.
Initiating FDR Process. $400 plus GST. The FDRP will send an invitation (or two) to the invitee, following up as necessary until either there is a signalled refusal to participate or agreement to mediate. If the mediation is not going to proceed, following the gathering of information, the FDRP will assess whether or not to issue a s. 60I certificate.
Half-day mediation. (4 hours) $2,200 + GST + Venue hire.
Full-day mediation. (up to 8 hours) $3,000 + GST + Venue hire.
Issue of s. 60I certificates following mediation. (if mediation was or included FDR), $200 plus GST upon request of a party to issue a certificate in their name.
Travel. By negotiation and location. Brisbane, Ipswich and Gold Coast at no-cost.
Location. Keep in mind, mediation requires a venue, usually utilising three rooms. These vary in expenses.
Overall, while mediation may, on the face of it, appear expensive. In comparison to going to court, mediation is extraordinarily cost-effective. A single day in a Court may cost parties several thousand dollars, with many days spent in pre-trial preparation.
